Product page views

Product page views are how often people opened your app's App Store product page, rather than only seeing the app in a list or search results.

Product page views are the number of times people opened your app's product page on the App Store, as App Store Connect reports them. Someone who sees your app in search results and taps it creates a product page view; someone who only scrolls past it creates an impression but no page view.

Why it matters

Product page views sit between impressions and downloads. Comparing the three tells you where people drop off:

  • Many impressions but few page views: the icon, name, subtitle or first screenshots in the results list are not making people curious.
  • Many page views but few downloads: the page itself (screenshots, preview video, description, ratings, price) is not convincing them.

Not every download goes through the product page. On the App Store, people can download straight from search results, so downloads can be higher than page views for some sources. That is why App Store Connect's conversion rate is based on impressions rather than page views.

Example (a fictional app)

A developer of a budgeting app sees steady page views from App Store search but notices that most visitors leave without downloading. The first screenshot shows a settings screen. They replace it with the main monthly overview and record the date. Three weeks later, page views are about the same, and downloads from search are higher: the change worked on the page, not on discoverability.

Where Indevaro fits

Indevaro reads product page views from App Store Connect, with the period they cover, and shows them alongside your other store numbers. It does not test product page variants for you; Apple's product page optimization in App Store Connect does that.
