Impressions
Impressions are how often your app was seen on the App Store: in search results, browse lists, the Today tab or on its own product page.
Impressions are the number of times your app was seen on the App Store, as App Store Connect counts them: in search results, in browse lists such as categories and charts, on the Today tab, and on your own product page. Apple counts an impression when your app is on screen for more than a second, and product page views are included in the total.
Why it matters
Impressions are the top of the App Store funnel. They tell you whether people get a chance to see your app at all, before the icon, screenshots or price can do anything. If impressions are flat, a better product page cannot bring many more downloads; the work is on discoverability (keywords, category, ratings). If impressions grow but downloads do not, look at what people see first: icon, title and the first screenshots.
Read impressions by source: App Store Connect splits them into search, browse and referrers, and each responds to different changes.
Example (a fictional app)
An indie developer ships a habit tracker and adds "routine" and "streak" to the keyword field in a new version. Two full weeks later, impressions from App Store search in the US are higher, while impressions from browse are unchanged. That points to the keyword change rather than a general rise in traffic. The next check is whether downloads from search rose too, using the conversion rate.
On Google Play, the store listing reports start one step later, at store listing visitors.
Where Indevaro fits
Indevaro reads App Store Connect metrics, including impressions, and shows them next to Google Play's figures without adding the two stores together. It does not create impressions or change your listing; you make that change in App Store Connect.
